I wanted to share with you my new giraffe statue. I bought it at a local Goodwill store for $2. I love it. It has found a home on my dresser next to my vase of peacock feathers and my mini palm tree.
Anyone who knows me can tell you giraffes are my *most favorite* animal. I don't know what it is about them, they just make me very happy. :) In honor of that I have put together a few giraffe inspired art ideas in this post to share with you.
Mama and baby giraffe at the SF Zoo June 2007.
- The One Million Giraffe Project- make your own giraffe to contribute to the website seeking to gather one million giraffes. Or just explore the giraffes already submitted.
- Giraffe Scratch Project- I love this crayon or oil pastel and paint scratch project.
- Giant Giraffe Mural- like the one my family made for me.
- Giraffe Drawing Lesson Plan- scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Giraffe Stand-Up Coloring Page
If you do any of these projects, or have your own giraffe art ideas, be sure to leave me links in the comments section.

Love your new statue....even if he has really big horns.:)
I like the giraffe drawing lesson plan. It would be a great way to teach overlapping as a sketching skill.
Love,

Love your giraffe and all those links. I know my baby would love to do one of those links if not two.
